METAIRIE, La. (WGNO) — On June 1, several runners all around the world laced up for Worldwide Running Day.

On Wednesday early morning a group of athletes met up shiny and early at 6 a.m. at Lafreniere Park to get started their times off with a run.

The group of runners, from a area group referred to as BNG Endurance, invited the local community to be a part of them.

Roxanne Huesman, just one of four captains of the stamina group said it’s crucial for absolutely everyone to get active.
