Sincere sympathy
We extend our sincere sympathy to Jim O’Sullivan, Umrigar and family on the death of Jim’s brother Tom, Tombreane, who died recently. We extend our sympathy also to his brother John and to all of Tom’s extended family.
Church gate collection
Many thanks to all who contributed to the recent church gate collection in Askamore in aid of the Mental Health Association. The collection amounted to €138.

The patron will take place in Kilrush on Sunday, July 31, at 1 p.m. The Brideswell Patron will take place on Friday, August 12, at 7 p.m. (Weather Permitting)
Gibbot Hill Mass
We are delighted that our Gibbot Hill Mass returns this year on Sunday, July 17, at 2 p.m. at Jimmy Mary Grennan’s Y21 PF90.
Sister’s visit Belarus
On Thursday, July 7, at 9.30 a.m. Mass in Kilrush. Sr. Olga from St Elisabeth Convent, Belarus will join us with a small stall of their crafts. Sisterhood of St Elisabeth helps children in orphanages, psychiatric hospitals and men in homeless shelters. All donations/purchases most welcome. If you wish to leave a donation for Sr. Olga, please do so with Fr Power. Support for this would be greatly appreciated.
Dance lessons
dance lessons with Steps and Styles will be taking place every Wednesday in Askamore Hall from 8.30 p.m. to 10.30 p.m. Starting Wednesday, June 15, Looking forward to seeing you all.
Ballyellis NS split-the-pot
Winner of split-the-pot on Monday, June 17, is Aobha Lancaster, The Burrow, Ballyellis – winning €126. Many thanks to everyone for your support during the year. It is very much appreciated. We hope that you will all continue to play split-the-pot in September.
Kilrush-Askamore GAA
Lotto – There was no winner of the last draw. The numbers were 3, 4, 17 and 26. The lucky dips went to Cait and Mollai Byrne, Joan Doran, John Potignano, Thomas Devereux. Seller Prize: Maria O’Rourke. The next draw takes place on Tuesday, July 12, in Ferns St Aidan’s GAA grounds, at 10 p.m. The jackpot is rising and now stands at €19,800. If you are not in, you can’t win.
Cúl Camp
The Kellogg’s Cúl Camp takes place at Kilrush-Askamore GAA grounds from August 8 to August 12.
Dances of Universal Peace
Dances of Universal Peace will continue on Friday, July 1; Friday, August 5, and Friday, September 2, at Askamore Community Centre from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Donation: €10. Please wear warm comfortable clothes and bring slippers.

St Patrick’s GAA lotto
There was no winner of the jackpot on Monday, June 27; winning numbers were 10, 12, 15 and 20. Mervyn Power and Jamie Furlong matched three numbers to each receive €75.

SVP Summer Appeal
St Vincent de Paul Ballygarrett will take up their annual summer appeal at all Masses on the weekend of July 16th and 17th. SVP thank you all for your generous support in the past and look forward to your continued support in the future. All monies collected will be used to relieve families in distressed locally.

Ballygarrett Tidy Towns outdoor market returns on Saturday from July 2, and every Saturday thereafter. Starting at 9am-12noon at the Parish hall
We have decided to open it up to members of the community who have school books or school uniforms to sell to come along between 10-11. A super opportunity to pick up good as new books and uniforms. We will have a table available to place items on.
Killenagh Wanderers lotto
The Killenagh Wanderers lotto can now be played online at clubforce.com/clubs/soccer-killenagh-wanderers-afc-wexford. All online entries must be made by 6 p.m. on the evening of the draw. There will be a Kiddies disco on Wednesday August 3 from 6.30-8.30pm in Ballygarrett GAA complex. Cost €5.

Pipe band competition
Congratulations to local man Ray Finn Newtown and also his daughter Ciara who were members of the Arklow Pipe Band which came 2nd in the All Ireland Pipe Competition in New Ross on last Saturday, well done to all involved.

Tidy Towns
Coolgreany Village is getting ready for the Tidy Towns competition which takes place in June, we are working through the flower beds and getting some painting done, we could do with a few more volunteers to help out in each area please.
In and around Coolgreany village, the volunteers that came out have picked over 30 bags of litter and this week we will be out again so if you have a free hour please join us. Bags and gloves can be collected at Vera’s.
Community Employment
Two Fas workers are badly needed for the village, please call Siobhan on 087-1145021. volunteers are needed to pick more litter and we are looking for a few people on each road to help out with flower beds and tidy grass verges, please don’t leave it all to the Grannies.
